From Concept to Shelf

Designing a book cover is a process that evolves from the first spark of inspiration to the moment it sits on the shelf. I started with concept sketches that explored the story’s core themes, carefully considering character, setting, and emotional tone. Each stage involved refining these elements, adjusting typography and imagery, until the final design captured the heart of the narrative—resulting in a visually compelling cover that entices readers at first glance and creates a lasting impression on the shelf.

A Variety of Formats and Deliverables

The project spanned multiple design formats to ensure consistent branding across all platforms. In addition to the print book cover, I designed covers for Amazon and audiobook formats, ensuring each piece was optimized for its respective medium. Promotional pieces, such as social media graphics and banners, were also crafted to maintain the visual identity across various touchpoints, allowing the book to resonate with its audience in both digital and physical spaces.

Creative Collaboration & Storytelling

Collaboration played a key role in translating the story into a visual language that spoke to both the author’s vision and the audience’s expectations. Working closely with the publishing team and author, I took the time to understand the narrative’s underlying themes and characters, ensuring each design element—from the script font to the subtle imagery—was thoughtfully chosen to reflect the book’s unique voice. Through this collaborative process, we were able to create a cohesive design that captured the essence of the story and resonated deeply with readers.
